Inactivity breeds forgetfulness.
Out of sight, out of mind, they say.
I'm not entirely sure who 'they' are, but I do feel I have been somewhat inactive in recent times and thus out of sight and subsequently out of mind: and I tell you faithful reader, that out of mind is no place for a musician to be. So this here is one of them there catch up blogs. A brief rendezvous into recent history and a look ahead towards future endeavours.
Although, now I think about it, there’s not much point telling you what has already happened. The past is the past as they say (there's those 'they' again). So instead let's just look forward to the foreseeable future and the plans I have laid out before us for the latter half of 2017
Rob Phillimore's Lyric Wall is a new blog series offering insight into my musical tastes, lyrical preferences and personality through the medium of pictures with words (or meme's if you prefer), all laid out in an aesthetically pleasing fashion. The 1st edition is on its way in the very near future, so keep an eye out for that.
From one thing being all about lyrics to the next with no lyrics at all.
My first (and possibly only) instrumental 'record' is in the works, demonstrating a different side of my songwriting. Expect melodic, expect moody, expect large and a release in the twilight of 2017.
More details will be released over the coming months so stay tuned.
Music Misc is a series of podcasts in which, as the title suggests, I'll be talking music.
Anything music related that tickles my fancy is up for discussion and the first episode is expected to air this autumn and will be uploaded to my Soundcloud profile.
Keep coming back to robphillimore.com for updates on this project as and when they arise.
The big one! The follow up to 'White River' is coming. I'm not giving anything away at this moment in time but I am quite excited about this one and hope you are looking forward to it as much as me. Stay tuned for news and updates in the coming months.
Now before we all get too excited about all of this, I think we should go and make a cup of tea, grab a biscuit and realign ourselves with the here and now; but remember to keep checking back for updates.
