Hello and welcome to the first instalment of a series I have dubbed 'Rob Phillimore's Lyric Wall'. The idea of which is to highlight the words that accompany the music we listen to, born from the notion that "lyrics don't matter"; which it seems from research, is a view that many share.
I am a lyrics guy. Lyrics matter and they matter very much.
The music is greatly important of course. Lyrics aren't lyrics unless they are accompanied by music, and music without lyrics can be found in abundance. But that’s neither here nor there.
Lyrics tell a story, paint a picture and evoke a feeling: and that’s what I want from music...stories, pictures and feeling. I have to connect with them, and if I don't then I'm unlikely to like the song.
So that’s the back-story, scroll down to view lyric wall #1 and keep an eye out for #2 in the near future.
Thank you for reading this introductory edition of the 'Lyric Wall'. Remember to keep an eye out for #2.

Have a great week.
All the best,
